Warren Road Primary School’s Governing Body
The role of the governing body is a strategic one. Its key functions are to set the aims and objectives for the school and targets for school improvement. It monitors and evaluates the progress the school is making towards these and is a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher. The full governing body meets at least once a term to discuss developments and receive feedback from the four committees.
1. The Resources committee is responsible for ensuring sound management of the school’s finances and all its resources, including proper planning, monitoring and evaluation. The committee will also ensure that the school’s building and site is well managed within a safe and healthy environment.
2. The Pay committee sets the Pay Policy ensuring implementation and conducts the Headteacher’s performance review.
3. The Teaching, learning and achievement commitee looks at the standards of teaching and pupils’ progress and achievement across the school. This committee also runs the LTA Forum of which all governors are members and reviews the impact of improvement initiatives and different aspects of the curriculum.
4. The School and community development committee ensures that the needs of the pupils, parents and school community are well met.
